Itinerary

Day 1Chandigarh - Shimla

After your arrival at Chandigarh railway station/airport you will be met by our driver who will drive you to Shimla (4 hrs) via Barog & Solan. Enroute, we will stop for lunch break at Barog (2 hrs from Chandigarh) we would even have enough time to stop for photo breaks. You will reach Shimla in the evening and will be checked in to your hotel in Shimla. You will be free to explore Shimla’s mall road in the evening, after which you can revert back to your respective hotel rooms.

Day 2Shimla – Sarahan

After breakfast at the hotel we will start off at around 9:00 A.M. It is an 8-9 hrs drive, we will be driving through the beautiful villages of Fagu, Theog, Matiana, Narkanda and Rampur.

En-route we will have many comfort breaks and will also visit the apple orchards and Hattu peak (3,400 metres/ 11,154 feet) at Narkanda, from where you can see the spectacular view of the mighty Central Himalayas. We will also visit the traditional wodden carved temple of Godess Kali on the top.

Afterwards, we will also stop by a small lake on our way to Hattu Peak. Later on, we can continue our drive to Sarahan via Rampur. On our way we will stop for a lunch break, picture breaks and various comfort breaks. The tiny village of Sarahan offers the splendid views of Shrikhanda Mahadev Peak (5,155 metres) and is the gateway to Kinnaur valley.

The major attraction in Sarahan is the centuries-old Hindu temple of Goddess Bhimakali. The temple is full of legends and a glorious example of hill architecture.

Day 3Sarahan – Sangla

After breakfast at your hotel, we will visit the famous temple of Bhimakali at Sarahan. This is the same temple in which human sacrifices were made about two centuries ago. After visiting the temple we will continue driving to Sangla (4-5 hrs) where you will check in at your hotel or can also choose to stay in luxury fixed tented accommodation.

After lunch, you will be taken on a walk through Kamru and Sangla villages ( 1-2 hrs) and we will visit ancient beautifully carved temples and Buddhist monasteries. You will have plenty of opportunity to speak to the local people in these villages for a more indepth experience.

Sangla valley is also known as the Baspa-Sangla valley after river Baspa which flows through Kinnaur valley. After the walk we will be staying over-night at your preference (tent or at the hotel).

Day 4Sangla - Kalpa

After breakfast at the hotel you will be driven to Kalpa village (2-3 hrs.) En-route we will stop at Recongpeo and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. We will have lunch in a local restaurant where you have a choice to enjoy Indian or Tibetian food.

After lunch we will drive to Kalpa (7 kms), you will check in to your hotel. Afterwards, in the evening you will be free to relax and explore the Kalpa village and enjoy the finest views of the Mt. Kinner Kailash (6,000 metres). This is a spectacular sight, especially early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and golden light.

Day 5Kalpa (Leisure Day)

Today after breakfast you can choose to walk to the nearby Roghi village (3 kms) famous for its nature views and cliffs. Villages here are covered with thick pine forests and are also famous for apricots and apples. Later in the afternoon the driver will pick you up from Roghi village and drive back to Kalpa village to the hotel for Lunch.

Rest of the day you are free to relax and enjoy the mountain views from your hotel.

Day 6Kalpa - Rampur

Rampur, the erstwhile capital of the princely state of Bhushur, is a beautiful town situated on the banks of the Sutlej River, on the India-Tibet Road. It is 132 km north-east of Shimla, at an altitude of 924 m. Places of tourist interest include the gabled Padam Palace, Raghunath Temple and Narsingh Temple.

The Lavi Mela, celebrated in late October or early November, is a major attraction and is attended by a large number of people. We will be staying at Rampur overnight.

Day 7Rampur - Manali

We will be passing through Sojha, Banjar and Jalori Pass, at an altitude of 3134 m they are one of the major attractions of Himachal Pradesh. They link inner and outer Seraj. Blessed with panoramic views, the new pass is man-made and is carved out from the mountain ranges. This pass is 150 m lower than the old Jalori Pass. There are many Kullu Shawl Factories and the Mini Vaishnoo Devi Temple.

We will staying overnight at Manali.

Day 8Manali - Rohtang

Excursion to Rohtang Pass: Situated at an altitude of 3979 mtrs above sea level and 51 kms outside Manali is the mighty Rohtang Pass – the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti valley. It affords a wide panoramic view of the mountains. Here one can see the majesty of the mountains at their height and splendor. At the top of the pass the air seems to glitter against the snow as you look down over herringboned ridges into the Lahaul valley.

The evening will be free for leisure and relaxing. We will be spending the night at Manali.

Day 9Manali - Kalka/Chandigarh

After breakfast you will be driven either to the Chandigarh airport or the Kalka railway station as per your flight / train schedule to board your flight / train back home.
